Six-Channel White LED Backlight Driver for Tablet Displays: SKY81452
The SKY81452 is a 6-channel, high efficiency, high resolution, white LED driver featured with touch screen driver supply for tablet-display applications. The driver allows system engineers to implement sophisticated 10-bit-plus dimming algorithms to improve dimming quality and increase battery life. It also incorporates an I2C adjustable voltage output to power touch screen driver IC’s, thereby reducing the system bill-of-materials count and cost while simplifying display system development.
With an adjustable boost frequency operation, engineers can tune the switching frequency on the SKY81452 to minimize RF interference, maximize efficiency, and choose small and thin inductors to enable sleek tablet designs. For system protection, the SKY81452 senses open or short LED conditions and over temperature events, and the high voltage current sink design prevents damage resulting from shorted LEDs. This driver and touch screen are ideal for tablet, notebook computer, and monitor displays in patient monitoring applications.
