First Sensor’s Series 9.5 Avalanche Photodiodes (APDs) are designed with enhanced NIR sensitivity to 950 nm, providing fundamental technology for the development of custom-designed solutions such as different geometries, packages, and arrays.

The 9.5 series of APDs features a circular active area, and a housing in a ceramic carrier type non hermetic SMD package with a clear glass or filter window. This device is ideal for laser range-finding and laser scanning applications including safety scanning, 3D-mapping, environmental monitoring, and high resolution LIDAR systems for autonomous driving.

Additional Series 9.5 features include:

  • Fast rise time and excellent responsivity in 950 nm range
  • Low gain slope above bias voltage
  • Very low dark current
  • 0.2 mm² active area
