Waukegan, IL -- March 31, 2003 -- ChloraPrep®, a product manufactured by Medi-Flex, is now included in all new standard kits assembled by Medikmark Incorporated™, located in Waukegan, Illinois. The addition of this highly beneficial medical product was brought about by the increasing need to reduce the number of patient infections, especially catheter related bloodstream infections ("CRBSI") which are mainly caused by microorganisms on intact skin. This is extremely important to home healthcare professionals where the facilitation of low infections rates is crucial in keeping home healthcare costs to a minimum.

ChloraPrep® is a "fast-acting, broad spectrum, persistent antiseptic that significantly reduces the number of microorganisms on intact skin". In clinical trials, ChloraPrep's one-step aseptic skin preparation application was found to surpass the criteria for efficacy, greatly reducing the known hazard of infection from the patient's skin and allowing healthcare professionals to support "best practice" protocols. 1 According to Jim Ronk, President of Medikmark, "The addition of ChloraPrep® is just one more way that Medikmark continues to embrace the changing needs of the healthcare marketplace."
