Clinical Innovations CEO Ken Reali Receives Inaugural PwC Small MedTech Company Compliance Award

Ken Reali, president and CEO of Clinical Innovations, LLC, recently was honored with the inaugural PwC Award for Small Company Compliance Achievement in the MedTech Industry at the ninth annual Global MedTech Compliance Conference (GMTCC) in Dublin, Ireland.

Sponsored by PwC, the award is given to an individual from a small-size company who has performed extraordinary service, and demonstrated exceptional leadership and passion for excellence, in the advancement of ethics and ethical behavior in the medical device and diagnostics industry.

“Ken truly exemplifies all the qualities that this award represents, and I congratulate him on this well-deserved honor,” said Christopher L. White, senior executive vice president, general counsel, of the Advanced Medical Technology Association (AdvaMed) under whose auspices the award is given.

Reali helps to represent the voice of small medtech companies on AdvaMed’s Board Committee on Ethics and Healthcare Compliance and is also a member of the AdvaMed Accel Board of Directors. He presented on the value of compliance to investors in small medtech companies during GMTCC’s first global compliance training program for small companies.

“Ken has worked to set the example for small companies on compliance matters through his leadership on the AdvaMed Accel Board, sharing with emerging companies his first-hand knowledge and expertise on establishing compliance programs that can expand with a maturing company,” said Ashley W. Wittorf, senior vice president and executive director of AdvaMed Accel.

“Ken has been an outstanding ambassador to small- and medium-size medtech companies in promoting awareness of the AdvaMed Code of Ethics and compliance with the code, and in development and implementation of our China-specific code and compliance app for mobile devices,” White added.

PwC also presented its 2016 award for Leadership in the Advancement of Ethics in the MedTech Industry to Johnson & Johnson’s Ghadeer Al Yacoub, regional health care compliance officer, Turkey, Middle East & Africa, at J&J Medical Device & Consumer.

“This award is meant to highlight those individuals who are on the cutting edge of advancing ethics in the medtech industry. Both Ken and Ghadeer are model representatives of game-changers within the industry,” White said.

“Ghadeer was the driving force toward bringing a more sophisticated code to the Middle East,” said Patricia Etzold, forensics partner, PwC. “Moreover, Ken has taken unprecedented leadership around the importance of compliance at small companies. PwC is proud to honor these individuals who have done so much to advance the state of ethics and compliance in the medtech industry.”
