Sky Ventures Group Launches Its First Life Sciences & Healthcare Investor Forum

Qualified funders matched with vetted startups to distinguish value & opportunities

Sky Ventures Group, a Boston-based investment group that provides seed funding to early-stage life science and healthcare companies, held its first ever members forum, bringing together an elite roster of investors and early-stage startups. Four vetted startups presented to more than 60 investors who will meet on a semi-monthly basis going forward.

“As corporations seek to aggressively engage with startups through partnerships, investments, and acquisitions, it is often difficult for them to distinguish genuine value in a chaotic market,” said Sky Ventures Managing Partner Eyal Geffen. “Our goal is to use the forums to bring both capital and strategic added value to the early stage funding by connecting the most influential individual and corporate investors with exceedingly qualified startups across the life science and healthcare spectrum.”

Recognizing that investors are rapidly expanding their involvement with early-stage life sciences and healthcare startups, Sky Venture Group’s member forums present top-tier investors with rigorously vetted startup investment opportunities. Participating investors are reviewed for consideration by the Sky Ventures Group’s Membership Committee, and consists of private and institutional investors and corporations who have significant expertise in life science and healthcare.

Among the more than 60 top-tier corporate venture capital (CVC), large corporations, family offices and individual angel investors attending the meeting were marquee names such as Samsung, J&J, Stryker, IBM, Boehringer Ingelheim, 3M, Zoll Medical, Takeda, Blue Cross Blue Shield/ Zaffre Investments Brigham & Women’s Hospital and more.

Likewise, Sky Ventures uses a multi-step process to screen and evaluate potential investment opportunities and startups, bringing structure, insight and strategic added value to the matching process. The four startups who presented at the members forum first had to pass through the Sky Ventures’ screening committee, made up of healthcare industry experts and veteran investors.
