Varioptic Launches A Variable Focus, Tilt And Astigmatism Liquid Lens For Ophthalmology Applications

Varioptic, a Business Unit of Parrot SA, will announce its new Visayan series of products dedicated to the ophthalmology market at the Photonics West trade show, which will be held from February 4 to 6, 2014 in San Francisco, California.

Named after a Philippine sea, Visayan lenses bring extra features to the ones that have built the success of the Arctic and Caspian series. Visayan lenses offer variable astigmatism in all axes in addition to variable focus and variable tilt, all being electrically controllable with absolutely no moving parts. With a clear aperture compatible with the human eye pupil, Visayan lenses are the right choice for innovative ophthalmology equipment that measure or compensate eye aberrations.

Demonstrations of this breakthrough product will take place on Varioptic’s booth #5419 at Photonics West 2014 – visitors are welcome to schedule an appointment to get a free vision test with the world’s first liquid-based phoropter.

An Early Adopter Program for Visayan lenses will be offered from Varioptic and its distributors in the second quarter of 2014.
