Adapta-Cap Bottle Adapter Simplifies Dosing And Oral Liquid Medications
Englewood, CO - Baxa Corporation announced a new Adapta-Cap Bottle Adapter sized specifically to fit sterile water bottles. Unique to Baxa, the Adapta-Cap bottle adapter is the first cap designed to provide drip-free filling of Exacta-Med Oral Dispensers, thus simplifying weight-specific dosing and oral liquid medications. Multiple customer requests prompted the new product, which facilitates the flushing of enteral feeding lines. Baxa oral dispensers and accessories permit total compliance to non-luer fittings for oral and enteral applications, preventing the incidence of wrong-route administration of non-IV fluid drugs.
The original Adapta-Cap Bottle Adapter, with its tethered reclosable cap, converts a standard prescription bottle into a filling device for use with the Exacta-Med Oral Dispensers. These oral dispensers were the first Baxa product and have been the market leader for 30 years. Exacta-Med Dispensers feature multiple packaging configurations and a full line of complementary accessories such as Adapta-Cap Bottle Adapters, tamper-indicating tools, specialty labels and filling adapters. These products offer a complete and comprehensive system for handling and administering oral liquid medications that enhance patient safety and ensure compliance.
"The Adapta-Cap Bottle Adapter is the perfect complement to the Exacta-Med Oral Dispenser. They make the filling process so much easier and facilitate unit dosing of oral liquids", says Mark Thrasher, Product Manager. The entire oral liquid delivery line from Baxa Corporation is latex-free and non-DEHP.
Designed to ensure dose accuracy while preventing med errors and wrong-route administration of IV drugs, oral dispensers and accessories are recommended by the Institute for Safe Medication Practice (ISMP) for use in oral and enteral fluid drug delivery. Baxa also provides specialty dispensers for safe topical and vaginal medication delivery, and its Kwik-Vail(TM) Unit Dose Containers and accessories provide stability for liquid drug storage and delivery.
