ALBION... One of the most recognized names in casters and wheels throughout the world. It wasn't always that way. In fact, back in 1947, Albion industries began as an idea. That idea was to sell reliable solutions to material handling problems, not just casters and wheels. That meant application engineering. It meant innovation. Most of all, it meant setting new standards for performance and quality.

By the early 1950s, the fledgling company's success attracted the attention of a group of business people who believed that these concepts would revolutionize the industry. These people, John Karmalski, Bud Davis, and Charles Burns, set out to build a distributor organization which would bring the ALBION philosophy of quality and competitive price face-to-face with American industry.

By 1966, the success of ALBION's distributor program was legendary. As ALBION custom products became industry standards, sales increased and so did our reputation. About this time, we attracted the attention of numerous investors nationwide. The King Seeley Thermos Company purchased Albion Industries and, in 1968, King Seeley became part of Household International, along with Albion Industries. The additional resources provided by Household International meant that we would be able to build a second manufacturing facility to keep up with the ever increasing demand for its products. Research and development efforts were expanded as ALBION became recognized for its success in custom engineered casters and whe Today, under the leadership of its president, Scott Chahalis, ALBION has harnessed the momentum which makes it a world leader in the engineering and production of industrial and institutional casters and wheels. ALBION's distributor network is the envy of the industry and is continuously strengthened through regional trade shows, national and local advertising, regional mangers for on-site distribution education, factory support and several programs. We are well known for our extremely broad line of high quality products which offer the best price/value relationship in the world. In addition, our engineers repeatedly solve custom application problems other manufacturers refuse to consid ALBION has responded to urgent requests like the requirement to design and build casters to move the volatile, 200-ton fuel cells for the NASA Space Shuttle Program. Over 300 revolving rooftop restaurants move on ALBION casters. ALBION has met the stringent demands for quality and performance at Disney Land and Disney World, on amusement rides such as the Mad Mouse and 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. The Metropolitan Opera stage at Lincoln Center turns on ALBION casters. The Delta rocket, yachts, and virtually anything that needs to be moved has been equipped with our casters.

Increasing demand, as well as new products, mandated further expansion and automation. To meet these needs, we have constructed another manufacturing facility in Newnan, Georgia to meet the growing demand in the southeastern United States.

In the summer of 1989, Albion Industries was acquired by the Pritzker family and became a member of the Marmon Group. With these new resources and continued autonomy, ALBION will retain its leadership in the production and sale of institutional and industrial standard, special and custom engineered casters and wheels. We will remain dedicated to the distributor network which as been essential to its success over the years. ALBION will endeavor to locate, in specific markets, new distributors committed to providing excellent service and high quality products to their customers.

The reputation of Albion Industries was built on innovation, engineering, education, service, and value. ALBION products have represented the best price/value relationship in the industry for over 50 years. Not only will this relationship be tenaciously maintained in the future, but every effort will be made to generate continuous improvement.
