Aloka Co., Ltd. Introduces New Version 5 Of ProSound Alpha 10

Tokyo — Aloka Co., Ltd. has introduced a new version of its high-performance ProSound Alpha 10 ultrasound system. The ProSound Alpha 10 new version 5 incorporates image enhancements and features, such as Compound Pulse Wave Generator (CPWG), Broadband Harmonics, Directional eFLOW and eTRACKING and Flow Mediated Dilatation (FMD).

Superior Image Quality with Compound Pulse Wave Generator (CPWG) and Broadband Harmonics New Version 5 of Aloka's Prosound Alpha 10 is equipped with programmable CPWG. This technology provides optimum imaging through precise delay control of the frequency and amplitude in each individual ultrasound transmission. The system also features newly designed Compound Impulse waveform which enables the system to transmit broader bandwidth from Hemispheric Sound Technology Plus (HST+) transducers used to differentiate anatomical structures in "hard to image" patients. This transmission capability works with Extended Pure Harmonics Detection, an Aloka innovation that is standard on the company's premium prosound product line.

These technologies combine to create what Aloka calls intelligent Broadband Harmonics. Broadband Harmonics delivers higher sensitivity and superior spatial resolution; there is no longer a trade-off between spatial resolution and penetration, according to the company.

Directional eFLOW
Broadband Harmonics also enhances a high-definition blood flow imaging mode used primarily for vascular imaging: Directional eFLOW. Directional eFLOW can be used for both low-velocity and high-velocity flow, delivering greater spatial and temporal resolution.

eTRACKING and FMD for Preventative Medicine
Aloka's eTRACKING (Echo Tracking) is a new, more accurate way to evaluate vessel wall stiffness before the onset of changes such as thickening or plaque formation. eTRACKING allows you to detect atherosclerosis much earlier than commonly used Intima Medial Thickness (IMT). By estimating a patient's "blood vessel age", a healthcare provider can advise the patient to alter his or her lifestyle through diet and exercise to prevent atherosclerosis. eTRACKING also supports accurate tracking of treatment at 0.01mm accuracy.

eTRACKING also enables FMD, a non-invasive way to assess endothelial function, which is considered the first indicator of atherosclerosis. FMD measures minute vasodilatation with 0.01mm accuracy.
