In 1997, Danaher Motion Components Group was established by its former corporate parent, American Precision Industries Inc., as its subsidiary in order to consolidate its activities in the motion control industry. Today, under the Danaher Motion Components Group umbrella are eight divisions and subsidiaries, all of which are involved in segments of the motion control industry.
Last year, 1999, Danaher Motion Components Group evolved into three selling entities (Sales Units) and eight technology/manufacturing units in order to make it easier for our customers to do business with us. Sales Units (SUs) were established for North America (Danaher Motion Components Group NA), Europe (API Motion EU) and the Far East (Danaher Motion Components Group AustralAsia or API Motion AA). The Technology Units (TUs) are the current manufacturing entities within the group, which continue to be responsible not only for the manufacture of the company's products but also for the advancement of the motion control technologies within their purview.
The first Sales Unit to come on line about mid-year 1999 was Danaher Motion Components Group NA (APIM-NA). With the formation of this sales company we were able to consolidate most of the customer service, application engineering and financial functions of the separate TUs, which means our customers throughout North America have just one point of contact for all their needs in doing business with Danaher Motion Components Group . The physical location of APIM-NA is Amherst, NY.
Today, Danaher Motion Components Group makes available motion control solutions using the following products: Servo motors and drives, step motors and drives, motor gearheads, resolver and encoder feedback devices, and electromagnetic brakes and clutches.
