Bar Code Reader

The BCH5584 bar code reader is operated in conjunction with the Windows 98 operating system. It features Windows Hardware Quality Labs approval for Windows 98 compatibility. Upon plugging the reader into the USB port, the operating system automatically recognizes its presence and prompts set-up of the necessary driver. No additional software is necessary; data that is scanned by the reader is directly entered into the PC as if it were keyed entered.

It has a solid-state scanning system, functionally equivalent to a one-line TV camera, which scans bar code symbols at a rate of 80 scans/sec. with a data transmission speed of 1.5 Mbps. It also features a high-move tolerance (6.6 in./sec.), providing reliable reads while the reader is in motion relative to the symbol. The reader automatically supports most linear bar code symbologies and printing methods.
