Bard Acquires Mill-Rose Laboratories

C.R. Bard Inc. (Murray Hill, NJ) has agreed to buy Mill-Rose Laboratories Inc. (Mentor, OH), a manufacturer of bronchoscopy devices used in conjunction with flexible endoscopes for the diagnosis and treatment of lung disease. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

William H. Longfield, Bard chairman and CEO, said, "This acquisition strengthens Bard's position as a market leader in devices used in flexible endoscopy for both gastroenterology and bronchoscopy."

Among the products that Bard will now distribute is the patented Wang transbronchial aspiration needle used to biopsy lymph nodes around the lungs.
