Biomec Acquires InnoMedica

Biomec Inc. (Cleveland) has acquired Minneapolis-based InnoMedica, a manufacturer of cardiovascular implantable devices such as pacemaker heart wires and catheters.

"Biomec has been a part owner of InnoMedica since 1998, and this move will consolidate our cardiovascular device development and manufacturing activities in a single location," said Trevor O. Jones, chairman and CEO of Biomec.

"InnoMedica will benefit substantially from Biomec's expansive biomedical device development capabilities in Cleveland while providing Biomec with a wealth of FDA manufacturing experience and an ISO 9001 certified manufacturing base," said Michael J. Kuske, president and CEO of InnoMedica.

Biomec also recently announced the opening of new facilities in Columbus and Cincinnati in response to the Ohio Technology Action Fund grant program for the development of biomedical technology and devices. Biomec was a major grant recipient in the recent award cycle.

Biomec Inc. is a biomedical engineered products and systems company established in May 1998 with the specific objective of accelerating promising research and development projects from private laboratories, major medical and academic institutions and national laboratories to successful commercialized products.
