Boston Scientific Cleared to Market 9-mm NIR ON Ranger Stent System

Boston Scientific Corp. (Natick, MA) has received FDA clearance to market the 9-mm length of the NIR ON Ranger stent system for the treatment of coronary artery disease. The system will be available in diameters of 3.0, 3.5 and 4.0 mm.

The 9-mm length is often used in challenging clinical situations that require precise stent placement. The 9-mm NIR ON Ranger stent system includes a unique distal dam to aid in stent securement, and the NIR stent is precisely mounted inside the radiopaque marker bands to facilitate physician placement.

The device was developed and is manufactured by Medinol Ltd. (Tel Aviv, Israel). Boston Scientific has an exclusive worldwide license to market and distribute the stent.
