Boston Scientific's Suzanne Durdevic Receives 2014 PwC Award For Leadership In Promoting Ethical Behavior In MedTech Industry At Global MedTech Compliance Conference

Suzanne Durdevic, senior director, general counsel, EMEA, at Boston Scientific, was honored with the 2014 PwC Award for Leadership in the Advancement of Ethics in the Medical Device Industry, presented at the seventh annual Global MedTech Compliance Conference in Barcelona, Spain.

The award, sponsored by PwC, is given annually to an individual who has demonstrated outstanding leadership in the advancement of ethics and ethical behavior in the medical device and diagnostics industry.

“Suzanne truly exemplifies all the qualities that this award represents. My congratulations to her for this well-deserved honor,” said Christopher L. White, senior executive vice president, general counsel, of the Advanced Medical Technology Association (AdvaMed) under whose auspices the annual PwC Award is given. “As one of the first members of the Compliance Network of our European counterpart Eucomed, Suzanne has been a leader in laying the groundwork for a mature compliance culture within the association through her role as Chair of its Legal Affairs Focus Group, member of its Code Committee, as well as a member of the ETHICS Association Strategic Committee.”

In addition to her leadership within the Compliance Network in Eucomed, Durdevic is an advocate for the safe and effective use of medical technologies, research and education, and industry-wide charitable donations and giving. She is a widely-recognized speaker at various international legal and compliance conferences where she promotes these causes.

“Today’s award recognizes the integral role Suzanne has played in the effort to ensure that ethical interactions between medtech companies and health care professionals are conducted with appropriate transparency and are based on the best interests of the patient,” said White.

In presenting the 2014 PwC Award, Jonathon Kellerman, principal, US Pharmaceuticals & Life Sciences Practice, PwC, commented, “Suzanne’s highly effective leadership and advocacy on the issue of ethical compliance and transparency within the international medtech community is an inspiration to all in the industry. In keeping with PwC’s own commitment to the highest standards of compliance and transparency, it is our great pleasure to continue to recognize compliance professionals such as Suzanne for their valuable contributions.”
