Brushless DC Fan

The Galaxy DC tubeaxial fan is designed to accommodate high performance airflow requirements, such as those of cellular base stations, power supplies, servers, and medical devices.

It features the company's patented Feathered Edge, which allows air to escape from the outer edges of the propeller blades, thereby ensuring quiet, smooth operation. Its venturi is constructed with a die-cast zinc alloy, painted black. Its propeller is made out of a black polycarbonate and meets the UL94V-O flammability rating. The fan is also available with the company's Therma Pro V technology, which allows the user to adjust thermal speed control, program a broad range of airflow needs, and compensate for variations in power supply voltages- eliminating the need for expensive circuit redesigns or voltage dropping devices. Additionally, a tachometer output, fully isolated from the motor circuitry, is available. This allows the user to direct pulse-to-speed relationships, which can then be conditioned to provide feedback for fan failures or performance degradation.

The fan is powered by a brushless DC motor, equipped with both locked rotor protection to prevent the motor from seizing due to overheating and polarity protection which protects the fan if the hookups are accidentally reversed. Its automatic restart capability ensures that continuous operation will resume after power failure, or overheating. The motor operates under standard 12, 24, or 48 voltages.

It measures 5.0 in. square by 1.5 in. deep (127mm x 38.1mm) and weighs 1 lb. 6 oz. (.62kg). Operating temperature range is –10°C to +70°C. It runs at a nominal speed of 3250 RPM and generates airflow between 90 and 165 CFM (42 to 77.9 L/Sec.). The fan is also available in both harness assemblies and leadwire versions. It meets UL, CUR, TUV and CE approval ratings.
