Cardinal Health Executives Visit Capitol Hill, Engage With Members Of Congress On Key Legislative Priorities
Debbie Weitzman, chief executive officer of Cardinal Health’s Pharmaceutical Segment, and Jessica Mayer, chief legal and compliance officer of the company, recently joined our Government Relations team in Washington to meet with members of U.S. Congress to discuss legislative and policy issues important to Cardinal Health and its customers.
While on Capitol Hill, Weitzman and Mayer held meetings with members of Congress and their staff, including Congresswoman Nanette Barragán (D-CA-44), Congressman Troy Balderson (R-OH-12), Congresswoman Shontel Brown (D-OH-11), Congressman Mike Carey (R-OH-15), Congresswoman Jenniffer González-Colón (R-PR-01), Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur (D-OH-09), Congressman John Larson (D-CT-01), Congresswoman Mariannette Miller-Meeks (R-IA-02), Congressman Frank Pallone (D-NJ-06), and Congressman Brad Wenstrup (R-OH-02).
In conversations with these lawmakers, Weitzman and Mayer discussed several issues of importance to our company and customers, including the role of the wholesaler and the need for certain flexibilities to be made permanent after the end of the Public Health Emergency (PHE). Later, they attended a Cardinal Health political action committee (PAC) reception for Congressman Mike Carey (R-OH) with leaders of key partnership organizations, including AdvaMed, the National Community Pharmacists Association (NCPA), and the National Association of Chain Drug Stores (NACDS), and paid a visit to the new Washington office of the Healthcare Distribution Alliance (HDA).
