Critical Care Concepts, Inc. Acquires MetaCon, L.L.C.

NORCROSS, GA. (Jan. 25) BW HEALTHWIRE- Jan. 25, 1999--Critical Care Concepts ("3Ci') today announced its recent acquisition of MetaCon, L.L.C. ("MetaCon"), located in Salt Lake City, Utah, as part of its ongoing strategy of acquiring leading regional distribution companies in the critical care market. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Critical Care Concepts, Inc., headquartered in Atlanta, was formed in 1997 to create the nation's leading sales and service company representing manufacturers of equipment and disposable medical products used in the care of critically ill patients in hospitals and other sites of care across the United States. MetaCon, founded in 1996, provides similar services to more than 350 hospitals and alternative site customers in Utah and other regions of the United States. Additionally, MetaCon has a strong presence in corporate account contracting with group purchasing organizations.

3Ci also announced the appointment of Scott Minniear, the founder and President of MetaCon, to the position of Senior Vice President of Strategic Development.

In October 1998, 3Ci completed the acquisition of Medical Device Services, Inc. in Brea, California. As a result of these acquisitions, 3Ci will now be able to service 95% of the country's key demographic markets. Annual revenues for the combined companies are estimated to be in excess of $125 million.
