Cyanoacrylate Adhesives
How Do Cyanoacrylate Adhesives Work?
Permabond's cyanoacrylates are one-part adhesives that are formulated to cure by reacting to minute traces of surface moisture. Cyanoacrylates cure in seconds at room temperature, eliminating the need for costly ovens. Permabond's cyanoacrylates offer gap fill size ranges from 0.006 inches to 0.020 inches. Temperature resistance ranges from -76 degrees to 500 degrees Fahrenheit.
Bonding
Permabond bonding cyanoacrylates are available in a range of viscosities and material adhesion capabilities. Permabond low and medium viscosity cyanoacrylate formulations provide superior bonding to all types of plastics, as well as wood and other porous materials. Permabond cyanoacrylate formulations also bond well when joining metal-to-metal, as well as rubber to metal.
Permabond high viscosity cyanoacrylate adhesives are formulated to eliminate dripping in vertical applications. This viscosity allows for filling gaps as large as 0.025 inches, while providing excellent adhesion to porous surfaces. A 30 second cure time and shear strength to 2000 psi ensures that the bond will be quick, durable and long lasting.
Wire Tacking
Permabond's product development team has formulated cyanoacrylate adhesives that, when sprayed with a Permabond activator, cures the exposed surface of the adhesive. The adhesive surface not exposed to the activator works to tack the wire in place. Permabond's cyanoacrylate chemistries offer extensive options for dispensing manually or automatically, bonding to dissimilar surfaces, and curing with, or without, ovens.
