In addition to our commercial polyurethanes, PTG can offer an extensive selection of developmental and custom polyurethane materials.
In addition to our commercial polyurethanes, PTG can offer an extensive selection of developmental and custom polyurethane materials. For example, through PTG's patented SME technology, any thermoplastic or segmented polyurethane can be synthesized with alternative surface characteristics without compromising the performance properties of the base polymer. Another option is to tailor the soft segment chemistry of the polyurethane. BioSpan C segmented polyurethane contains a polycarbonate soft segment, resulting in a potentially corrosion-resistant analog of BioSpan. Several other novel thermoplastic polyurethanes emerge when alternate soft segments, such as PEO, an aliphatic hydrocarbon, or a silicone co- soft segment are used. PTG also offers two-component thermosetting potting compounds, and Calo•MER shape-memory thermoplastic blends. These materials are available in lab-scale quantities and on a per-order basis.
