The Differential I/O Modules can be combined with the Control Module to expand system capability
Intelligent Motion Systems, Inc. of LYNX Axis modular Motion Control System, Differential I/O Modules can be combined with the Control Module to expand system capability and allow more complex control. It provides as many as six high-speed differential I/Os individually programmable as clock inputs or outputs, encoder feedback, or general-purpose use. In addition, signal pairs can be configured for quadrature, clock and direction, or clock up and clock down. When used as inputs, each is digitally filtered with a user selectable cut off frequency from 5.00 MHz to 39.1 KHz. Signal pairs can accommodate either a single ended or differential configuration.

The module programs easily interfaces with Stepper Drives, Vector Drives, AC Inverters and Digital Servo Drives. The modular design enables distributed control, as well as design flexibility. Its 1.5 axes of control or electronic gearing makes following external clocks or rationing a second axis easy for the user.

A five Vdc supply voltage or a 12 to 75 Vdc supply input allows the use of driver's power supply. Standard communications includes RS232 and RS422 with selectable baud rate to 38.4K, full or half duplex. All values are scaleable to any engineering unit, and the module is available with optional Din rail or panel mount. With plugable terminal strips and easy-to-connect plug-on modules, its building-block design lets the user create a system to suit specific needs.
