Digital printing has been a hot topic for many years, and for good reason. The onset of digital printing could provide greater flexibility, faster setup times and cheaper overall production costs. But for most, truly plateless printing is still a dream in the distant future.

Topflight has been working for several years with many different companies to develop a completely digital printing press, and has completed the first phase: the creation of a digital print head which is mounted and fully functional on one of our custom-designed presses. The output is astounding; the turnaround time boggles the mind. On average, we can receive a customer art file via e-mail and have finished product in 30 minutes - no film, no plates! Variable information is a snap; complex graphics can be changed "on the fly;" sequential barcoding is nearly effortless. And because all traditional avenues are circumvented as the job streams directly to press, all of these features come with a much quicker production time.
