Draeger Safety, Inc., Selects VectorCAST For IEC 61508 And EN 50402 Software Development

Global leader in medical and safety technology chooses Vector Software’s VectorCAST for critical software testing of its next-generation gas detection system.

Providence, RI (PRWEB) - Vector Software, the leading provider of dynamic software testing solutions for embedded systems, announced today that Dräger, an international leader in the fields of medical and safety technology, has chosen the VectorCAST software testing platform as a key component of the development of the their next-generation stationary gas detection system.

Dräger manufactures and distributes safety systems and equipment for mining, fire prevention, industrial, and other hazardous areas. The company’s product range encompasses respiratory protective equipment as well as complete air filter and air supply systems, devices for on-site or laboratory contaminant analysis, and portable and fixed gas detection and warning systems. Dräger Gas Detection Systems are developed in accordance EN 50402.

The Dräger development team chose the VectorCAST platform for its advanced functionality and TÜV SÜD IEC 61508 certification. Dräger software engineers will use VectorCAST/C++ to automate unit and integration testing, VectorCAST/Cover for code coverage analysis, and VectorCAST/Manage for continuous integration and regression test management.
