Dual Processor DSP Board

The dual processor PCI/C6600 DSP board supports either two TMS320C6201 (fixed point) or two TMS320C6701 (floating point) processors operating at up to 200 MHz. It delivers 3200 MIPS/2GFLOPS of processing and is suitable for a wide range of embedded DSP applications including medical imaging, telecommunications test equipment, and industrial test and measurement. Architectural commonality between the fixed and floating point versions enable designers to transition between the two boards.

A set of development tools, utilities and libraries provided with the board ensure a common software environment so that minimal changes are required to migrate between processors as the project moves from development to deployment. Each of the two processors has exclusive access to one MB Flash memory and 32 MB SDRAM via the external memory interface (EMIF). Additionally, a shared bus provides both processors access to a bank of up to one MB SRAM to facilitate interprocessor communication, and enables both DSPs to access the on-board PCI bus via a PCI bridge device.
