DYMAX Introduces Fluorescing Light-Curing Needle Bonding Adhesive

Torrington, CT - DYMAX Corporation introduces a new light-curing adhesive for bonding needles, syringes and other stainless steel cannula. MD Medical Device Adhesive 1162-M is low viscosity for quick, air-free dispensing into needle hub cavities. DYMAX 1162-M bonds stainless steel cannula to polycarbonate, PVC, glass, and polypropylene hubs. It produces clear bonds that exceed pull forces of other available adhesives in various needle bonding applications.
MD Medical Device Adhesive 1162-M cures upon exposure to UV/visible light in fractions of a second when exposed to high-intensity UV light, such as that produced by the DYMAX BlueWave 200 Spot Lamp, or an electrodeless focused-beam curing system. This makes it an ideal adhesive for high-speed, high-volume, automated syringe assembly.
For in-line inspection, 1162-M fluoresces blue under low-intensity black light, which is highly compatible with scanning and vision systems typically incorporated in automated production. This product is also available with the new Ultra-Red fluorescing technology, 1162-M-UR.
