Extruded Beryllium-Aluminum Alloys
Beralcast MGA Alloys are extrudable beryllium-aluminum alloys that can be produced with complex cross-sections in compositions ranging from 10% to 65% beryllium content to achieve specific stiffness-to-weight ratios. Providing up to 30% weight savings over conventional aluminum alloys on stiffness based designs, they yield the same mechanical properties as aluminum and are readily machineable into a variety of components.
Featuring from 137% to 356% greater specific modulus (Mpsi/lbs/in3) than 6061-T6 Al, the alloys let designers change their alloy composition over time to keep pace with performance needs. Primary applications include disk drives, semiconductor manufacturing equipment, high speed measurement, robotics, medical devices, and various consumer products.
