Firstlight Networks Inc. Introduces The Lumen Imaging System With Full UL 60601-1 Compliance
Tustin, CA - Firstlight Networks Inc., a specialized strategic solutions provider for the medical and IT marketplace, is pleased to introduce the Lumen Imaging System with UL 60601-1 compliance. Lumen has been designed to be used with virtually any analog modality (ultrasound, endoscope, fluoroscope, etc.). This technology allows users to instantly convert that modality into a digital capture device in order to collect patient image files for further diagnosis or archival purposes.
"We have designed this system to allow the maximum amount of flexibility for our customers needs," states David Lawson, Vice President of Development. "Lumen has the ability to simultaneously capture both still images and full motion video, convert it into multiple file types, and deliver those files to multiple destinations in real time which is something no other system can claim." Lumen creates DICOM files, the medical field's standard, with populated patient data to facilitate simple upload back into a PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System) or patient management system. In addition to DICOM files this system also creates JPEG, PNG, and TIF still image file and AVI, MPEG2/4 video files with embedded audio.
The Lumen Imaging System provides hospitals, surgical centers, and medical practices with the ability to extend the functionality of their existing medical equipment by transforming them into digital capture devices. "This system dramatically alters the technology curve for many medical practices," says Shawn Salkeld, President. "Our development team has created a plug-and-play system that will not only extend the life of our customers' medical systems, but also increase their functionality by providing the same capabilities as cutting-edge modalities at a fraction of the cost."
