Custom Balloon Development & Rapid Response Prototyping Added in Minnesota

Freudenberg Medical, a global developer and manufacturer of finished medical devices, components, and minimally invasive solutions for the medical device industry, has expanded medical balloon development and balloon rapid prototyping services to its product development center in Minnetonka, Minnesota. By establishing the Balloon Development Center of Excellence Freudenberg Medical has centralized the balloon development activities to further decrease turnaround times for prototypes while supporting its manufacturing facilities with turnkey solutions. Freudenberg Medical has offered balloon development for more than 15 years.

Freudenberg Medical’s Balloon Development Center of Excellence offers all capabilities in-house to develop, manufacture, and test high performance medical balloons including dedicated equipment and project engineers to ensure short timelines and accelerate time to market.

Rapid Response Prototyping enables quick design concepts not available through typical off-the-shelf industry solutions. “Whether you’re looking to address challenging requirements with multi-layer extrusions, high burst pressures, or specific features, lengths and diameters, our Rapid Response Prototyping team will quickly work with you to get prototypes in hand,” said Mark Ostwald, President of Freudenberg Medical Minimally Invasive Solutions. “Our knowledge with non-compliant, semi-compliant, and compliant balloon technologies in a range of dimensions and materials makes Freudenberg Medical a great partner for custom balloon development.”

Freudenberg Medical’s comprehensive catheter development capabilities include advanced extrusion, handle and shaft development, balloon development and manufacturing, hypotubes and metal micro-components, assembly, and coatings.
