Furon Names Hagan to Added Post of President; Promotes Grewe to Executive Vice President

LAGUNA NIGUEL, CALIF. (Feb. 16) BUSINESS WIRE -Feb. 16, 1999--Furon Co. (NYSE:FCY) said today its chairman and chief executive officer, J. Michael Hagan, 59, assumes the additional position as president, effective immediately, following the early retirement of Terrence A. Noonan, 61, who also relinquishes his seat on the board.

The company also announced the promotion of Joseph R. Grewe to the newly created position of executive vice president, responsible for the company's industrial product lines, which represent approximately 75 percent of the company's total sales. Grewe, 50, formerly was Furon's vice president, operations.

Steven S. Willensky, 44, continues to be responsible for Furon's medical device products. Both Grewe and Willensky report directly to Hagan.

"Terry Noonan is retiring from Furon with the company in a position of strength," said Hagan. "Our board of directors and management team wish to publicly acknowledge the many contributions he has made to Furon's growth and development during his nearly eight-year tenure as president."

Furon, a global manufacturer of engineered polymer components, serves both the industrial and health care markets.
