The Gammacell 220 from MDS Nordion is for high dose rate
MDS Nordion, a Subsidiary of MDS Inc.macell 220 from <%=company%> is for high dose rate gamma radiation studies. The spectrum of Gammacell 220 applications is wide, ranging from plant mutation to space radiation simulation.
MDS Nordion, a Subsidiary of MDS Inc.macell 220 is completely self shielded and can be installed in a laboratory environment. The cobalt 60 sources are fixed within the lead biological shield so the operator cannot be exposed to the source. The unit can be replenished with additional cobalt 60.
MDS Nordion, a Subsidiary of MDS Inc.macell is employed in hundreds of experiments exploring some areas such as fundamental radiation effects, radiation-induced property changes dosimeter calibrations, qualification of radiation processes, materials research, radiation effects on biological systems, radiation induced genetic mutation, sterile male insect control, radiation processing of food, and qualification of space bound integrated circuits.
Cobalt 60 sources are doubly encapsulated in stainless steel tubes and are held in a source cage in lead shielding. MDS Nordion, a Subsidiary of MDS Inc.macell 220 is approved for use in Canada by the Atomic Energy Control Board and by the United States Nuclear Regulatory Commission.
