GE Marquette Licenses ECG Technology to Zoll Medical
Zoll Medical Corp. (Burlington, MA) has signed a licensing agreement with GE Marquette Medical Systems (Milwaukee) for the 12SL ECG analysis program for diagnostic recording of the electrocardiogram (ECG) and the interface of the MUSE CV(R) Cardiovascular Information Management System for archiving patient ECG data for use in Zoll's M-Series defibrillators.
With the 12SL ECG analysis program, the ZOLL M-Series defibrillators will be capable of acquiring 12-lead ECGs to help diagnose patients with acute myocardial infarction (AMI).
Outside the hospital, the defibrillators will be able to analyze 12-lead ECGs, calculate measurements of recorded cardiac signals and provide interpretations of the ECG waveforms. It will then communicate the information to fax machines, computers, or the MUSE CV Cardiovascular Information Systems.
Inside the hospital, the M-Series defibrillators can provide 12-lead ECG acquisition in emergency departments and Chest Pain management centers without the need for additional equipment. All patient ECGs can be archived and reviewed with the MUSE CV.
Zoll Medical Corp. manufactures non-invasive resuscitation devices and disposable electrodes.
