Guidant Releases New Endoscopic Vessel Harvesting System

Guidant Corp. announced the worldwide market release of its Vasoview Uniport endoscopic vessel harvesting system, which enables rapid harvesting of the saphenous vein for use in coronary artery bypass surgery.

Because the system requires a single, 2-cm incision, it is the least invasive endoscopic vessel harvesting system currently available.

The system also allows faster procedure times by using ergonomically designed, in-line instrumentation. All instruments operate through a single, multilumen cannula, facilitating ease of use and improved surgical control.
