Haemonetics and Transfusion Technologies Enter Agreement

<%=company1%> (Braintree, MA) will be the sole European and Asian distributor for the OrthoPAT Autotransfusion system developed by Transfusion Technologies (Natick, MA). The system, exclusively designed for orthopedic surgery, is a portable system which allows the blood to be salvaged both during and after surgery in a single disposable set.
According to the contract, Haemonetics will invest $15 million in Transfusion Technologies to own 19.8% of the company. The two companies are also looking to incorporate Haemonetics' CORE program techniques to the manufacturing of components and sets for Transfusion Technologies' systems.
Transfusion Technologies Corp. develops equipment and disposable sets for the processing of human blood for transfusion to patients.
Haemonetics manufactures automated blood processing systems.
