Harland Medical Systems Introduces PCX Coating Station for Applying and Curing Coatings to Medical Devices

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minnesota – Harland Medical Systems, LLC announces the introduction of its PCX Series Coating Stations for coating catheters, guidewires, pacing leads and similar medical devices. Modular construction lets the customer select the size and level of automation needed for the application without the long lead times and high costs of custom designed equipment. The PCX Coaters integrate both dip coating and curing in one compact unit. This "coating room in a box" meets the requirements of both development and manufacturing environments.

Disposable coating fluid reservoirs provide each device with its own fluid supply for close quality control and conservation of coating solution. Dual loading locations permit one batch of devices to be processed while a second batch is unloaded and loaded. During the coating process, the devices remain in position while the dipping and curing modules alternatively exchange position, thus minimizing device movement. Curing is via ultraviolet illumination, infra-red heat or air dry as customer requires.
