HIMA Launches Associate Membership Program

For the first time, the Health Industry Manufacturers Association (HIMA; Washington, DC) has opened its membership to professional service firms in the medical device industry. The new Associate Membership program was designed to include firms involved in accounting/finance, consulting, economic development, insurance, investment, legal, and venture capital.

The Associate Membership Program's benefits include:

• Receiving HIMA's biweekly newsletter "In Brief" as well as "Medical Innovation and Technology" and other publications
  
• Gaining access to HIMAnet as well as a company listing on the Web site
  
• Participating in the Associate Member Council and in local advocacy activities through HIMA's Innovation Councils
  
• Receiving invitations to member-only educational programs and other events, in addition to discounts on seminars, conferences, and exhibits

To be eligible for Associate Membership, a firm may not be engaged in the manufacture of medical devices, diagnostic products or health information systems. Associate Membership annual dues are $10,000, and $20,000 for an enhanced Gold Associate Membership.
