Skiving removes an oval chip from the side of a catheter
Technical Innovations, Inc.ing removes an oval chip from the side of a catheter. This process enables access to particular lumens of multi-lumen catheters, without risk of unwanted communication between lumens. A precision drilling machine, fit with a manual Y-axis and custom catheter guide is suited for skiving. The size of the skived hole is the result of the diameter of the skiving drill used, and distance the catheter is offset from the cutting edge of that drill.
