HP Expands China Manufacturing Operation

To strengthen its commitment to the China healthcare market, Hewlett-Packard Co. (HP) has expanded its manufacturing operation in Qingdao, China to include product design and marketing.

The expanded operation, dubbed HP China Medical Division, is a joint venture between HP's Medical Products Group and the China National Corp. of Medical Equipment Industry. The new division will provide medical technology designed specifically to meet the needs of doctors, clinics, and hospitals in China.

The China Medical Division occupies a 65,000 square-foot facility. At present there are 140 employees on-site.
