The LT1176 is a single resistor programmable gain instrumentation amplifier from Linear Technology Corp. that combines DC precision with industrial-level input fault protection. With 20 kW external input resistors, the LT1167 handles ±400 VDC input faults as well as ESD spikes over 4 kV. The amplifier's ruggedness, accuracy, ease of use, and small size make it suitable for a range of precision data acquisition, medical instrumentation, industrial measurement, process control, and flow control applications.

The amplifier's input bias current is < 350 pA, with an offset current of < 320 pA, and it can drive 600W loads to ±10 V without a significant linearity penalty.

Gain is set from 1 to 10,000 with a single external resistor. It comes in a compact SO-8 package, and is fully specified across the industrial temperature range of -40º C to 85º C.
