Intelligent Medical Imaging Inc. and Bayer Discuss the Possibility of an Alliance
Intelligent Medical Imaging Inc. (IMI) announced that it is discussing the possibility of a licensing agreement for its hematology slidemaker/strainer technology with Bayer Corp.
Before discussions began, Bayer reviewed IMI's technology at its Palm Beach Gardens facility for six months. As a result, Bayer Corp. decided to explore alternatives for an additional investment in IMI. According to Robert Parnell, Ph.D., vice president Group Licensing, Alliances and New Business Development for Bayer Corp., this would be an additional step in establishing a possible collaboration involving IMI's automated imaging technology.
IMI is excited about the potential alliance with Bayer. It hopes that this alliance will help establish its MICRO21 System , an intelligent, automated microscope system for diagnostic use in hospitals, commercial reference, physician group practice laboratories and pharmaceutical and veterinary laboratories, as the standard for automated microscopy worldwide.
