Norwalk, CT — INTERPHEX 2007, the pharmaceutical industry's largest annual event, once again exceeded growth expectations. Nearly 17,000 industry professionals were in attendance and over 1100 leading life sciences companies exhibited from around the globe. With the co-location of PharmaMedDevice — the first event focusing on the convergence of the medical device, pharmaceutical and biologic industries, and over 160 educational offerings, this year's industry gathering proved to be the most comprehensive to date.

"Each year our primary goal is to be an invaluable resource for the industry, by delivering an event that is developed and shaped to meet the wide-ranging needs of life sciences professionals. The co-location of PharmaMedDevice, and an expanded educational program, are examples of how we will continually work to highlight and address the hot issues and new technologies that are forging the future of our industry" said Kevin Richards, Group Vice President, Reed Life Sciences Group.

Consistent with the goals of the event, INTERPHEX 2008 will reach into another new industry segment with the co-location of BIOTECHNICA — Europe's number one biotechnology exhibition and conference. The additions of PharmaMedDevice and now BIOTECHNICA will position the 2008 INTERPHEX event in Philadelphia, PA as the most expansive gathering across the life sciences industry. Bringing together pharmaceutical and biotechnology advances and the latest in medical device and biomedical product technologies will broaden the appeal of INTERPHEX and help a wide range of life sciences professionals gain a competitive advantage in their specific fields.

"We are creating a dynamic platform for collaboration across three major disciplines in the life sciences industry… it is very exciting," says RJ Palermo, INTERPHEX Event Director. "This year definitely set the stage for 2008. Industry leaders continue to leverage INTERPHEX to gain knowledge about the innovations and strategies that can enhance and facilitate their businesses on all fronts — whether it is planning, process development, R&D or manufacturing and packaging."

"Over the last three years as a result of our attending INTERPHEX, we have had leads turn into sales opportunities, " said Jay Shah, Marketing Manager, GE Healthcare, Life Sciences. "We were surprised at the incredible scope and the breadth of the customers who stopped by our booth at the event. We will be looking to expand our presence in Philadelphia in 2008."
