Karl Storz Endoscopy-America, Inc., a leader in medical video imaging, announces the addition of Autoclavable Cameras to the IMAGE 1(R) Digital Imaging Platform. Although the new three- and single-chip digital camera heads can be sterilized by autoclaving, they provide the same levels of clarity and resolution available with previous IMAGE 1(R) cameras.

"IMAGE 1(R) is the only video camera system that instantly converts optical images to digital at the earliest possible moment: the CCD sensing chip. With parfocal optical zoom capabilities and digital fiberscope filtration, IMAGE 1(R) autoclavable cameras automatically optimize the view for all endoscopes. Moreover, IMAGE 1(R) has full SDI (Serial Digital Interface) video compatibility for high-resolution, high-fidelity images.
