Kent Thermoplastic Rubber
Characteristics that make thermoplastic rubber attractive are:
- cleanliness
- dimensional stability
- good vapor and gas transmission properties
- ease of sterilization
- chemical inertness
- softness
- excellent clarity
- tighter tolerances
The lower cost K3800 is perfectly satisfactory for less demanding use conditions. This grade is suitable for below 150°F, and can be sterilized with ethylene oxide.
All TPR compounds have excellent resistance to water, acids and bases. Soaking in hydrocarbon solvents and oils will deteriorate both grades, yet short exposure can be tolerated.
Using a blend of materials and added processing technology, Kent Elastomer has developed a number of custom compounds that offer unique features. The K2300 and K2500 series can be made with a silky, smooth, tack-free surface to duplicate the look and feel of natural latex tubing.
All the listed compounds are suitable for FDA regulated application as articles or as ingredients in articles intended for food contact or medical application.
