LADARVision System Gains CE Mark Approval

Summit Autonomous Inc. (Waltham, MA) has received CE Mark approval for its LADARVision system, a tracker-guided, small-spot laser system for vision correction surgery.

The LADARVision system combines two unique features for cornea-shaping procedures. The active tracking function locks the laser onto the pupil throughout the operation, ensuring accurate placement regardless of eye movement. The small beam corneal shaping feature employs a beam of less than 1 mm, which is moved rapidly across the cornea in a computer-controlled pattern of tiny, non-sequential, overlapping spots, producing a smooth post-operative corneal surface.

With the approval, Summit can now market the LADARVision system throughout the European Union, including Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, and the United Kingdom, as well as in Iceland, Norway, and Liechtenstein.

Summit Autonomous develops, manufactures, and markets ophthalmic laser systems and related products designed to correct common vision disorders such as nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism.
