The Laser Gauge makes the system complete. It makes the grinder a closed loop system making feedback of offsets quick and easy. Download the wire profile parameters from the grinder over the peer to peer network, and you are ready to gage a wire. Place the wire into the clamping trough, press GAGE WIRE button. Watch the windows interface and see the profile drawn on the screen with the tolerances shown. For a closer look at a portion of the wire, use the zoom feature to get closer.

The user friendly operator interface is a universal Windows format. All of the necessary information to gage and evaluate your product is just a mouse click away- from placing the wire into the trough, clamp it down, click "Start Gauge" icon, and watch your wire appear on the screen. During production runs, if your product is gauged and is out of tolerance, a message box will appear to alert the operator. After the wire is drawn through the laser your actual gauged result will be displayed in green. For easy identification your upper and lower tolerance are displayed in red. The graph on your screen has the capability of magnifying your product up to 1000 times for close visual inspection to inspect a section of your product routinely, save up to five different views. Reading those views is accomplished by clicking a button. All of your profiles are saved into the date set for continued reference. Not only can you refer to your product part name and description, but they are date and time stamped for accurate reference.

Hard copy color printouts are a one step process. The high resolution 8 1/2" x 11" printout magnifies your product for easy evaluation product evaluation. For record purposes, the printout includes the time and date stamp of your gauged product and your operator identifier number.

The Mechanical Details

The gage is capable of gauging any profile length fits ideally in an average work space. The ground wire is placed in a trough and clamped down. The start button on the gage screen is clicked and the stepping motor is activated. The stepping motor draws the wire through the laser recording the length and wire diameter dimensions. The Pentium computer processes the information and displays it on the 17" SVGA monitor. Your printout will come from a full color printer.

SPC (Statistical Process Control) Your gauged results

Imagine gauging your lot of 1,000 wires with the ease of clicking a mouse button. That's how easy it is with the Royal Master Laser Gauge Software Package. You can log diameter and taper deviation at the tip of your fingers, and determine the CPK of your production run. For visual results print out a histogram or an x-bar chart with your upper and lower control limits. For ease of exportability the results are saved in a form compatible to other software packages. Another option is to download the results to a disk for further analysis away from the gage station.
