Light Guides

The light guide is the heart of the delivery system and can often; in conjunction with the light source, form the entire curing system. Standard liquid filled guides are available in 3, 5 and 8mm tip diameters and are an economical choice for light delivery.
The light guide is the heart of the delivery system and can often; in conjunction with the light source, form the entire curing system. Standard liquid filled guides are available in 3, 5 and 8mm tip diameters and are an economical choice for light delivery. A variety of lengths ranging from 750mm to 3000mm are standard with dual and triple leg configurations also available for multi-site curing. Extended range guides allow the user to deliver additional energy in the lower wave-lengths for tack free cures. Fused silica fibre guides are available and allow for multi-legged and lower wavelength light delivery. The multi-legged light guide provides energy to several sites simultaneously using a single light source and can be used to tack complex assemblies in several locations to ensure critical alignments. The randomized fibres provide uniform distribution of energy down each leg for repeatable cures. Multi-legged guides with a dedicated feedback leg provide real time measure-ment of end-of-light-guide energy when used with the EFOS Novacure(and its built-in radiometer). Requests for custom lengths and config-urations of fused silica guides are welcome.
When a simple spot of light is not enough, EFOS offers a wide variety of end-of-light-guide optical accessories to tailor the output to suit many applications. Custom configurations have been designed and developed by our Optics and Engineering staff using in-house lab facilities and the latest in mechanical and optical design software. Partnering with Universities and related industries has allowed EFOS to introduce other innovative solutions. Many of these proven designs have subsequently been adopted as standard EFOS products.
