The company offers its patented Direct Mount Posimeter Liquid Silicone Meter, Mix and Injection System that can be adapted to any injection molding machine and is designed to handle high viscosity two-component silicone elastomers for molding medical, electronic, automotive and other silicone parts. It is suitable for small shot applications of 1 cc to 29 cc where mix ratio accuracy and shot size control is critical.

The system feature precision positive displacement rod metering technology with balanced inlet/outlet spool valves for the "A" and "B" components. It is located at the inlet of the screw on an injection molding machine, eliminating long flexible hoses with individual metered components. This assures maximum ratio accuracy and eliminates off-ratio or out-of phase conditions due to hose expansion or contraction. Equipped with a multipass Posimixer motionless mixer that provides a thorough blending of the "A" and "B" components prior to dispensing into the screw, the Posimeter assures consistent durometer, air-free molded silicone products.

A NEMA 12 control panel houses a programmable logic controller that monitors all functions of the Posimeter. Each of the metering rods must be fully recharged prior to allowing a dispense stroke to be taken. Optional pressure transducers are available to monitor the reload and dispense fluid pressure for additional process verification.

Benefits

  • ± 1% ratio and shot size repeatability
  • Multiple Posimeters can be fed from one set of pail or drum transfer pumps
  • Ready adaptation to existing injection molding machines or integrated with OEM supplied machines
  • Process control variation for every machine cycle
