Medamicus Cleared to Market New Coaxial Dilator Introducer
MedAmicus Inc. (Minneapolis) has received FDA clearance to market a new coaxial dilator introducer, a product that is rapidly gaining popularity for use in minimally invasive medical procedures.
"This product is an excellent complement to our introducer product line and opens up the opportunity for the company to participate in the fastest growing segment of the vascular access market," said Mark Kraus, vice president and general manager of the company's Vascular Delivery Systems division. "As we have broadened our introducer marketing activities, micro-introducers and coaxial dilator introducers are the most requested product. As a result, we believe this FDA clearance will allow us to gain additional OEM relationships," Kraus added.
MedAmicus manufactures medical products for the gynecology, urology, and cardiology markets. Its products include the LuMax fiber optic monitors and catheters for the diagnosis of incontinence and prostate conditions; and venous vessel introducers for usein the implantation of pacemakers, defibrillators and infusion catheters.
