Memry to Sell Nitinol Components to Medical Device Industry

Memry Corp. (Brookfield, CT) announced that it will sell its Nitinol products and components under the Memry brand label directly to customers in the medical device industry.

The company also announced that it has entered into a long-term agreement with Raychem (a division of Tyco Electronics Corp.) for the marketing and distribution of Memry's Nitinol products in the industrial and commercial industries.

James Binch, CEO of Memry Corp., said, "We are excited to be assuming direct responsibility for Memry's sales of medical components to the medical device industry. This means Memry will be working directly with our medical device customers, obtaining product feedback, and ultimately enhancing our customers' product development cycle."

Memry's capabilities include the design, development and manufacture of nickel titanium (Nitinol) strip, wire, and tube; prototype development; advanced laser processing; and specialized micro-coiling and contract assembly. Medical device products include laparoscopic surgical sub-assemblies, medical stent materials and components, catheters and guidewires. The company has locations in Brookfield, CT; Menlo Park, CA; and Herk-de-Stad, Belgium.
