Microstepping System
The system has 14 built-in microstep resolutions, from 400 to 51,200 steps/revolution (1.8° motor) in binary and decimal that can be changed at any time without the need to reset the driver. Integrating the system in applications that use higher step angle motors allow the user to replace mechanical gearing for increased smoothness and more accurate positioning. This feature will also enable the user to move long distances at higher speeds, yet precisely position the motor at the end of travel while reducing controller overhead.
Other system features include short circuit and thermal protection, adjustable automatic current reduction, at full step and fault outputs. Accepting an input voltage of +12 to +48 V, this ultra-miniature 96 watt bipolar drive incorporates advanced ASIC technology, which reduces motor heating and allows low inductance stepper motors to be used to increase high-speed performance and efficiency.
