Miniature Rotary Encoder

The E9 Miniature Rotary Encoder from API Harowe is an incremental optical encoder that measures 0.866 in. in diameter and 0.81 in. in length. The E9 is available with resolution up to 512 lines per rev. A CMOS ASIC performs all electronic functions in the encoder, including signal detection, conditioning and output.

The detection circuitry uses an integrated sensor matrix and mask that provide consistent and accurate quadrature and index signal phasing. The E9's modified-polymer code disc exhibits excellent dimensional stability over an operating range of -40° to -100°C.
